《鴉之城》是迪克．方登持續探索嘻哈文化的成果。延續第一部中對於饒舌、DJ文化等黑人社群文化呈現的考究，本片場景依舊設定在紐約的South Bronx，而焦點則集中在街頭塗鴉傳奇人物 'Brim' Fuentes，以及最早為嘻哈文化命名，人稱嘻哈教父的DJ Afrika Bambaataa。片名「Bombin’」在嘻哈黑話中意指街頭塗鴉，片中流竄著半虛構半紀實的風格，就如同嘻哈先驅者混接美國文化與各國文化的努力，觀眾有如親臨黑人草根運動的萌芽現場，可以輕鬆看待，也可拋開對嘻哈文化所有的成見，一起搖擺。 Bombin’ is Dick Fontaine’s follow-up to his film Beat This!: A Hip Hop History, a documentary that caught a worldwide musical and cultural movement in the making. Bombin’ traces the visit of New York graffiti legend Brim Fuentes and hip-hop innovator Afrika Bambaataa to the UK in 1985.
